The second annual Senior Law Day for residents of Adams and Broomfield counties is being held on Saturday June 8th 2019 at the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Conference Center located at 1500 E. 128th Ave Thornton, CO 80241. 

The first Senior Law day held last year was a huge success with over 300 people attending the informative event.

I wanted to share with you below the handbook that was handed out at the event. This helpful guide is packed full of wonderful content that will be a great reference for you over the coming years.

Some of the topics that will be covered include much needed legal information for senior citizens, their family members, caregivers and service providers. The event will include 16 workshops including some of the following:

  • Social Security 
  • Conservatorships 
  • Guardianships 
  • End of Life Decisions 
  • Fraud Prevention 
  • Financial Exploitation

The event will feature numerous informational booths from service providers and agencies. One of the highlights is the Ask-A-Lawyer program where attendees may have a free 15 minute consultation with an elder law attorney. 

As an added benefit, each attendee will receive the Colorado Bar Association's Senior Law Handbook, a 500 Plus page resource manual covering 34 legal issues facing today's seniors. 

The event will run from 8:00am - 2:00pm. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served. 

The event sponsored by the 17th Judicial District Senior Law Day Planning Committee. Members include the District Attorney's Office and 17th Judicial District, Adams and Broomfield Counties, elder law attorneys from law firms including Tolison & Williams, Werth Law and Bell Law Firm, Adams County Aging Network (ACAN) and representatives from municipalities and Senior Centers in the district.
